Materials
Lesson Procedure -Deal the cards out to the entire class.
-Have one student begin by reading his/her question,"Who has...?"
-Students must study their card and decide whether to respond.
-The person who answers is the one whose "I have..." statement is the correct response.
-The student reads the "I have," then the "Who has" statement on his card.
-This continues until the sequence (round robin) returns to the student who started.
-At this point the activity stops.

Time how long the activity takes to complete. Usually the first time you go through this it takes a good deal longer than what it should due to students' inattentiveness.

Discuss what factors may have affected the amount of time it took to play. Elicit not paying attention to what number is being asked, difficulty with mental math, forgetting what number he/she has, etc. List the factors and assign a construct to each one, i.e. memory, attention, language. Discuss strategies to help with each factor.

Repeat the activity encouraging children to implement strategies and compare the time it takes the 2nd time. (Time should be reduced from the 1st attempt.)

Discuss how everyone has different strengths/weaknesses and how we develop strategies to help ourselves.
