Lesson Procedure
1. Introduce the concept of Long-term memory and paired association to the class. Provide the following instruction: Teacher will hold up a picture of a person the student will most likely recognize from school or the media. Once the students see the photo, the students should record their answer and the amount of time needed to find the answer. Students should also make note of any association cues they used.
2. Open a discussion about the activity by asking the following questions:
--Was this activity difficult or easy for you?
--What other information would have been helpful to you in remembering the name of the person pictured?
--Discuss strategies you use for memorizing visual or auditory information.
Debrief (checking for understanding)
