Lesson Procedure
-Have a student look up the definition for memory. Read definition and explain to students at their current academic level. -Discuss why having good memory skills is important in all aspects of their lives (not just in school). -After discussion explain to them that you are going to draw two jack-o-lanterns on the overhead. They will be allowed to look at the jack-o-lanterns for 1 minute. -Turn off the overhead and ask them to draw the jack-o-lanterns from memory. -Encourage each student to share what they have drawn. -Discuss ways to practice improving their memory.

I was amazed to discover that only 2 of my 10 students were able to draw the jack-o-lanterns exactly as I had.
